BSIT and MSIT students demonstrated excellence in research and innovation at the 7th Intellectual Property and Innovation Research Conference, where they competed alongside participants from various universities and institutions across the Philippines.
Several student groups were recognized with special awards for their outstanding research contributions. The Best Overall Poster Presentation award was given for the study titled “A Decision Support System for Collegiate Volleyball Performance Analytics Using Automated Game Statistics and AI-Assisted Insights,” conducted by BSIT students Herise Janah Visto, Gwyneth Morata, Princess Loraine Escobar, and Neil Laurence Flores.
The Best Panel Presentation award was awarded to the research “Mitigating Strength Training Injuries in Student Athletes: An Automated Form Assessment Tool via Mobile Computer Vision,” presented by BSIT students Ron Fourier Alonzo, Aaron John Barcelita, Joshua Nicolai Gonzales, Nathaniel Kurt Reyes, Josh Enrico Cariaga, and Joseph Emmanuel Tagatac.
Meanwhile, the Best Professional Presentation award was conferred on MSIT student David Ezekiel Garin for the research titled “Pocket Sports EMR: An Athlete-Centered, Lightweight Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System for Offline-First Injury Tracking.”
All awarded research projects were conducted under the supervision of Dr. Raphael W. Gonda, Lab Head of the AdRIC-CITe4D Research Lab, College of Computer Studies. These achievements highlight the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation, research excellence, and impactful technological solutions.
