DLSU College of Computer Studies’ Dr. Marnel Peradilla Named JASTIC Fellow for ASEAN-Japan STI Collaboration

Dr. Marnel Peradilla of De La Salle University has been named a Japan-ASEAN Science, Technology and Innovation Coordination (JASTIC) Fellow, recognizing his contributions to regional research collaboration. The fellowship is part of a project supported by the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF), focused on strengthening human capacity for science, technology, and innovation (STI) coordination between ASEAN countries and Japan.

The seed funding provided through the fellowship will support joint initiatives, including stakeholder discussions, research visits, and a major workshop to be held at Ateneo de Manila University, organized by Filipino STI fellows.

As part of the program, Dr. Peradilla is set to visit Malaysia and Brunei to advance regional engagement. He will also lead a project titled SEA-Heart Data, which aims to develop a federated data-sharing framework that supports privacy-preserving and compliant research collaboration across Southeast Asia. The JASTIP Fellow title highlights his leadership in fostering cross-border scientific cooperation and promoting inclusive and sustainable innovation in the region.
