How can we transform global logistics?

Through the Advanced Research Institute for Informatics, Computing, and Networking (ADRIC), Prof. Greg Foliente is leading the development of the Physical Internet framework for the Philippines’ freight and logistics sector. This initiative aims to improve efficiency, sustainability, and resilience in the delivery of goods across businesses and consumers.
“The idea of the Physical Internet is similar to how digital data moves online,” Prof. Foliente explains. “It’s about sharing resources in the best possible way to deliver goods efficiently to their intended destination.”
By promoting shared infrastructure and standardized networks, Prof. Foliente envisions a logistics system that optimizes resources, reduces waste, and strengthens the country’s capacity to recover from disruptions. His work contributes to creating the National Innovation Roadmap for Freight and Logistics, aligning with global goals to transform the industry by 2040.
Prof. Foliente is a DOST Balik Scientist and Enterprise Professor at the University of Melbourne, collaborating with DLSU’s College of Computer Studies and the Enrique K. Razon Logistics Institute.
