
De La Salle University continues to strengthen its research leadership as Dr. Charibeth Cheng of the Advanced Research Institute for Informatics, Computing, and Networking (AdRIC) Lab’s Center for Language Technologies (CeLT) has been awarded USD 100,000 in Google Cloud Credits to support her research project “Development of a Filipino Tokenizer for Natural Language Processing” utilizing the Gemma Model.
The award, granted by Google Cloud, provides dedicated computational resources to advance research involving the Gemma Model. This recognition highlights the growing importance of language technology research and affirms confidence in the innovative work being conducted at AdRIC Lab’s CeLT.
With this support, Dr. Cheng’s project is expected to contribute meaningful advancements in language technologies while further strengthening De La Salle University’s position in artificial intelligence and cloud-enabled research.
